Michelle Ellis is the principal at Ellis Communications Marketing and a veteran communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in local, regional and national public relations programs, marketing communications, social media campaigns, strategic partnerships, and event promotion, as well as broadcast journalism. She has worked with a variety of clients in a multitude of sectors, including entertainment and events, education and government, lifestyle and consumer, home building and commercial real estate, nonprofit, restaurant and retail, publishing and business-to-business service. A respected local industry leader, Michelle is the president of the Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Colorado), her agency was presented the 2019 Small Practice Award by PRSA Colorado, she was named one of Denver’s 2016 top 40 Under 40 business leaders by the Denver Business Journal, and was recognized as the 2015 PR Person of the Year by PRSA Colorado. A Colorado native and Colorado State University alumna, Michelle is passionate about helping brands with a Colorado connection stand out in a crowded marketplace through strategic storytelling and memorable marketing communications that engages their audiences and influencers.
Jose is the spokesperson and social media strategy lead at Denver Water and president-elect of the Colorado Chapter of PRSA. As a bilingual communications specialist and content writer, Jose hopes to connect any dots between the Latino community and Denver Water. Although Jose was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, he considers himself a Denver native since he moved to the Mile High City at a young age in 1997. Prior to joining Denver Water, he worked in the nonprofit sector managing social media accounts, marketing and day-to-day operations for two trade associations.

James Cullen is an Account Supervisor who works with Ogilvy’s Public Relations and Influence practice managing community engagement and risk communications efforts on behalf of FEMA. James has broad industry experience in the public affairs, technology, energy, education, economic development, and nonprofit sectors where he has provided integrated marketing, digital communications, stakeholder engagement, and public relations counsel at national, regional and local levels. James has worked to create innovative partnerships for FEMA to better achieve its mission of helping people before, during, and after disaster, including an ongoing partnership with TEDxMileHigh, the creation of the youth-focused RISE Challenge, and developing story elements for the Floodwalk augmented reality application set at Denver’s Confluence Park.
Alicia V. Nieva-Woodgate joined USA Technologies in 2020 as Vice President of Corporate Communications and IR, overseeing PR, IR, Internal Communications, and Social. Previously she was Head of Corporate Communications at Western Union. Prior to her role at Wester Union, she was Managing Director at ANW Networks Companies she’s represented over the years include Dell, Nlyte, Alchemy API, VERITAS, GlobalLogic and Method, Relation Insurance, MarkLogic, and Xoom. She was also the Director of Corporate Communications at Mediabolic and Opsware. Ms. Nieva-Woodgate began her PR career at the US headquarters for Crosby Securities, Inc., a Hong Kong based investment bank, as Manager of Media Relations and Marketing for North America. She has also held Board positions with the Commonwealth Club of California’s INFORUM, the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR), The Social Media Club of Denver, The City Kids Foundation, Citymeals-on-Wheels Young Professional’s Alliance, and PRSA Silicon Valley. She is also currently the Programing Chair for PRSA Colorado.
