Recently, we presented a session as part of our Job Seeker Series of webinars on How to Navigate Job Boards and Networking. Co-presented by The Marketing Alliance and the Denver Marketing Mavens, our experts in the community and at several recruitin agencies - The Creative Group and Creative Circle - shared their best practices for searching for opportunities and on finding the right professional networking groups and platforms. They also discussed networking strategies to help candidates to access the “hidden job market," where potentially 75% of job seekers obtain employment through networking. The experts in hiring and networking also shared ideas on how to leverage connections, identify opportunities, and effectively network a path to a new job.
Marketers attending the event were treated to information on new job search strategies from experienced recruiters, tips on how to network in a our virtual living and working world, and ways to leverage existing connections to help set yourself apart in what is becoming an even more competitive job market.
Denver Marketing Mavens is a space for Denver women in marketing to support and learn from each other. Co-founded by Madison Martin and Brandi Koskie, marketing veterans who wanted to create a safe place for women to connect and share resources about the broad and male-dominated world of marketing, the Marketing Mavens primarily Facebook-based group is comprised of "entrepreneurs, interns, social butterflies, wallflowers, creatives, data nerds, and badass marketers."
